Marco Hero has been an attorney since 2002 and joined SCHIEDERMAIR as a partner in 2018. He is a member of the distribution law practice group and specializes in franchise law, distribution law and purchasing law. In addition, he acts as compliance officer or data protection officer for clients. If necessary, he enforces his clients’ interests before state courts or arbitration tribunals.

Marco Hero accompanies the entire life cycle of German and foreign franchisors, other distribution systems, manufacturers and brands. For over 15 years, he has assisted decision-makers, owners and legal departments with any issues that arise in sales or purchasing in any company or system headquarters, nationally or internationally, whether by way of single or multi-unit franchising, master franchising or territory development, joint ventures, manufacturing, distribution or licensing. He supports several startups each year from conception through structuring, formatting, piloting and subsequent roll-out.

Marco Hero is a member of the German Franchise Association and an active member of the International Committee. At the International Distribution Institute (IDI), he has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and is the only expert on German franchise law since 2010. As a lecturer at the German Franchise Institute (DFI) and the Franchise Campus in Weilburg, he passes on his knowledge to the next generations.

He began his career in 2002 as a lawyer and later partner in a Düsseldorf law firm focusing on distribution and franchise law. As a senior partner, he opened and built up the first office for them in Munich, among other things. With this location, he moved to an Ulm-based law firm in 2013, for which he managed the first Munich office as well as the sales, franchising and purchasing department until moving to Frankfurt and joining SCHIEDERMAIR in 2018.
Marco Hero studied law at the University of Saarbrücken and the Universidade Católica in Lisbon. He completed his legal clerkship in Düsseldorf and in the USA.
